Very pleased to have launched a Motor Art website for Stewart Wilkins, a self confessed 'car nut', and accomplished artist. The website is designed to grow as Stewart adds more of his own artwork and discusses artists who have influenced his work.
Our brief was to develop a website based upon a blog format. The site has a textured paper background with fonts which subtley suggest the motor trade from years gone by. Click on the image to visit Motor Art:

Focal Strategy are very pleased to have launched a new website for Berry Telecom based in Salisbury, Wiltshire.
Berry Telecom is an established, growing company offering a wide range of business telecommunication solutions to companies across many sectors. Our brief was to refresh their existing website, to give it a fresher, cleaner look.
The website contains a large amount of useful content for prospective clients, so we put a lot of thought into the navigation making it easier for visitors to find the information they needed. We remade their logo in vector format and recreated a number of graphic images, and then completely re-coded and hosted the site.
We recently received superb feedback from Berry Telecom saying:
“A huge thank you and credit to you for the amazing work you have done for us creating our website. You have been extremely thorough and proactive in understanding our industry and I am amazed at the amount of work you have done in the short time frame. Thank you again and look forward to doing further business with you in the future.”

Brook Green School in Devon were looking for a website that enabled them to change and add content easily themselves. We provided them with a site that has an easy to use admin interface, enabling them to develop and grow their web content over time.
Working closely with the school, we have given them training and support in using the content management system we developed for them and have enjoyed watching the site mature as the months have gone by..a process which is still continuing today :O)
The school are active users of their blog, posting news items for parents to share via social media such as Twitter, Google + and Facebook.

We've recently completed a great website design project, creating a brand new website for retro company Fish 4 Junk. Specialists in finding mid-century 1950s to the 1980s vintage items, Fish 4 Junk based in Dorset were looking for a website that enabled them to effectively sell their vintage items online. They needed the site to be easy to use so that they could get their items up for sale quickly, with on page SEO built in to ensure the items were found online for sale.
Their brief was to create a look which brought to mind the Mad Men TV series, so using the Mad Men colour palette we created a header and footer filled with retro lamps, furniture and clocks - representing just the kind of thing Fish 4 Junk sell.
Fish 4 Junk also wanted to ensure that their customers could easily find an item and securely buy with as few clicks as possible.

Fish 4 Junk will be using their blog to actively market their business online, letting people know of the wide range of items they have for sale, and also the vintage fairs and markets they can be found at in reality. Our integrated blogs are coded so that any posts added are indexed within search engines such as Google within minutes as a new stand alone page. This 'white hat' SEO technique is a key factor to online sales success.

We are very pleased to have designed and launched a brand new website for The Thai Corner in Hythe. This gem of a restaurant tucked away in the village, serves the most delicious authentic homecooked Thai food.
Our brief was to design a traditional, yet contemporary looking website which clearly shows people the food, and also how to find the restaurant.
We took all of the photos, which included our setting up a portable studio in the resturant for the food shots. This means that every photo you see is of the actual food The Thai Corner prepare - much better than boring stock images!
Owners Ooy and Quentin will be using their blog to market their business online. They have the tools to hand to monitor their online marketing by way of our bespoke admin interface - with our cookie free analytics package built in. They can also make alterations to their website themselves.

Focal Strategy are very pleased to have launched a rather cute website for Val & Simon the creators of the book Podge and Dizzy - a story about a frog and dragon fly who live at Hatchet Pond in The New Forest.
This compact website is actually packed full of goodness - The blog will be used to get the site noticed online and to market the book worldwide, whilst also being a tool to let people know about events and school visits relating to the book. An online shop will enable people to order quickly and easily, and a simple to use contact form should encourage people to get in touch.
Behind the scenes our bespoke content management system offers Simon and Val the ability to make changes to their own website, such as adding more books for sale... They can also monitor the number of visitors they receive, the search terms they are being found for and even where in the world visitors are from, (all without the use of cookies).
An SEO console enables them to alter page titles and descriptions etc should they want to over time.

While everyone was recovering from partying, Focal Strategy were busy as New Years Day saw the launch of a brand new website for Pineapple Retro, a vintage shop selling furniture, china, barware and other retro items in Brockenhurst, Hampshire.

Our brief was to create a clean looking website which made it easy for people to find and easily buy the vintage items Pineapple Retro have for sale in their shop.
Another important feature was to enable owner Sophie to easily upload new items for sale. The bespoke content management system has been designed specifically for Pineapple Retro, so that products are quickly and simply added to the website database, making them instantly available for customers to locate within any of the shop's categories, or by using the search facility.
A very neat feature is that photos of products are automatically resized and thumbnails created by the website itself as they are uploaded, regardless of the image shape - so less image prep and fuss!
Additionally, the website adds a watermark to the image if photos are copied or pinned onto Pinterest, this acts as a neat advertising feature, drawing people back to Pineapple Retro and a potential sale:
Once a product has been paid for in Paypal, the website has been designed to automatically set the product as 'Sold' or reduces the quantity of items left for sale when there are multiple products in stock.
Pineapple Retro are planning to actively use their blog to promote their business online, and as with all of our websites the integral blog has been designed to create each post as a new web page. The more blog entries that are written, the more 'doorways' there will be into the website - this is a very powerful SEO tool, which is completely search engine friendly since blog entries will offer useful and interesting information on the vintage products they sell. After each blog entry is posted, the entire sitemap is then actively sent to Google for indexing, ensuring that within minutes the new information is available to search engines, and can be found by potential customers.

Focal Strategy are very pleased to launch a website we recently designed for a very special Wedding car company. Hall's Wedding Taxi have lovingly renovated a traditional London taxi cab especially for weddings. Based in Hythe, Hampshire at the edge of the New Forest, the company is in the perfect location!
Our brief was to design a website that celebrated the iconic British taxi, whilst also appealing to the bride to be. We opted for Union Jack bunting, and ensured the design had a good red, white and blue feel to it. We really enjoyed this design project which included us designing the logo, the branding and taking all the photographs for the website. Click on the image to take a trip around Hall's Wedding Taxi.
