Focal Strategy are very pleased to launch a new site for Transworld Yachts who are sailing and powerboat brokers based in Hamble.

This database driven website, neatly takes the boat images and information Transworld have already inputted into Yachtworld.co.uk, via an XML file to create their boats for sale information page dynamically. This means the company does not have to upload the data twice, and they know it is always current.

The boats for sale page has many viewing options, visitors can click to view by sailing or power boats, and then by age, length or manufacturer - by clicking on one of the search terms the images rapidly re-sort themselves...why not take a visit and have a go - it's really snazzy to use!

By clicking on to individual boats, a detailed spec sheet is shown, which can be printed off, whilst an enquiry button makes it very easy for customers to send an email to Transworld about each particular boat.

The site also includes a news blog which auto feeds into social networks to keep customers up to date, assist with Transworld's online marketing, and to support 'white hat' on page search engine optimisation.

We have really enjoyed working with Steve from Higher Class DJ Entertainment in Slough, and today sees the launch of the new website.

Pete and Rich have done a great job on the funky colour changing pages and animated embellishments, including dancing people  - on your first daily visit, and a blingy star.

The website has YouTube embedded videos and sound you can turn on or off depending on your mood (see the top right of the page), whilst the photos at the edge of the pages rotate and move for added visual interest.

An interactive contact form, gives customers the ability  to enquire about particular event ideas from the wide range of services that Higher Class offer.

Whilst working on Neville Stanikk's Landscape Photography site, we were asked to design and build a food photography website and also one for his property work for him to showcase these sides of his business separately.

The classic designs incorporate a simple to use gallery from the visitor point of view, and an even simpler way of getting images uploaded to the websites via a bespoke content management system linked to Neville's main website.

Focal Strategy are extremely pleased to launch a new website for Neville Stanikk, a prominent landscape photographer based in North Devon.

Neville supplies images to publications such as Cornwall and Devon Life Magazines, as well as many others, so needed a website with a fully searchable database.

The website will eventually contain around 30,000 images, which Neville is currently uploading using our easy to use multi image upload tool.

The website has been cleverly coded to automatically create thumbnails as they are uploaded to the site, whilst also auto recognising image tags, captions, place names and regions to assign the images to the correct place within the database.

From the file name, the site also knows the size of the original image, helpfully informing customers of the image size before they purchase.

On the home page a series of images are shown in an animated slideshow to keep the content fresh and interesting for the visitor.

Visitors can either browse to find a photo they would like, or are able to search by region, place name or tag (eg. beach, bridge, night).  For example you can search for just river shots in Barnstaple, Devon:

or if you want to search for bandstands in the UK you can do that too!

There is also a free form facility using a search box.

Dynamic 'breadcrumb' location generation helps visitors to navigate through the website.

There is a wish list facility so that clients can make personalised collections of the photos that interest them prior to purchasing online.  The wishlist can also be sent to Neville via the contact form. Digital files, fine art prints, mounted prints and  canvases can all  be purchased online.

Neville also has a best of gallery, from the bespoke content management system we designed for him he can rate his favourite photographs so that they appear in this specialised gallery. He can also edit page text, and change image tags and captions once the photos are uploaded to the site, giving him complete control.

All 30,000 images are pro-actively auto indexed with Google, so that they are easily found online. The site also has a blog which feeds in social networking sites such as Facebook, making the website fully search engine optimised using on page SEO.

We have really enjoyed the challenge of designing this dynamic photography website  look out for the other websites we have launched for Neville in our coming blog posts :O)

Focal Strategy have just re-designed Seika's website - the company work closely with small to medium sized companies offering help with mergers & acquisitions, raising finance and providing financial and operational advice.

Last week Google made their search engine ranking algorithm even better - now new web information will come much higher in their search engine results.

• Google loves blogs even more than it used to as they add fresh new website content!  A website with new information on it will come higher than one without , so use your blog regularly!

• Write blogs about current, interesting and relevant stuff for your line of business.

• For extra blogging power use the keywords potential clients might use in their search terms to find you.

• If you don't have a  blog on your website, seriously consider getting one - a blog is a very powerful search engine optimisation (SEO) tool which is completely in your hands.

Today we spent several hours photographing The Bathroom and Kitchen Academy showrooms in Dibden Purlieu, ready for their new website which we will be building for them.

The showroom is choc full of gorgeous kitchens and sumptuous bathrooms, showers, basins and taps - the trouble is it made us want a lovely bathroom makeover ourselves!
